Toy Boat

Today we had a summer day of play that was also educational. We invited friends over to learn about different boat types. We talked about why density matters when it comes to floating and what can make a boat steer one way or the other and read books from the library about boats too.  We raided the recycling bin and took out our "supplies". Each kid created their own toy boat. Then we walked down to the community pier for launching. Each toy boat did float although the sails had a bit of trouble. It was a lot of fun to share this activity with friends and even learned a little something along the way!
