Family Dinner

In many ways I'd say I am traditional and go even as far to say I'm old fashioned compared to today terms. But, sadly, the whole tradition of family dinner is a rarity in our home. Our normal routine is to feed the boys early then after they are tucked in for bed Adam and I have dinner. We do this so Adam and I can have complete thoughts, deep conversation and a meal without indigestion. We consider most of our dinners at home together "date nights" because we don't get out as much as we did in the past. Even though this routine works well for us now I do see great value in the whole family sitting together for dinner. So once in a while we do sit down together, the 4 of us, and share a dinner together. This past Sunday was one of those nights. Adam made homemade pasta, meatballs and sauce. We had garlic bread and big salads. We even lit candles and had soft Christmas music on in the background. We did enjoy the meal together and although Adam and I didn't really get to "talk" the time together around the dinner table with Evan and Jake was special!
