Independence Day

This year we did "small town USA" a.k.a Severna Park 4th of July. On the 3rd we watched the Sherwood Forest fireworks across the river. The next morning we went to the Dynasplint sponsored parade. We got our own catered tent and watched the parade perched on a little hill! The boys loved waving to the passing fire trucks, antique cars, and marching bands. Having an unending amount of snacks also kept them happy! After the parade we went down to the community beach to hang out with some of the neighborhood folks. Then we went back to my parents house for a cookout with burgers, dogs, and crabs! My Mom made the most beautiful red velvet cake layered with homemade whipped cream, blueberries, and strawberries for dessert.
We the left S.P. and drove back to DC in time for Adam to get down to watch the fireworks show here in the city (I stayed home with the sleeping boys). Spending time with family and remembering what it took to have the freedoms we enjoy so much and enjoying the fireworks made for a special Independence Day!
