Day 12 and 13

Christmas 2010

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2008

This weekend was what I'll call interesting. It didn't go as I had hoped. A few of the events that contributed to our weekend feeling tough: Evan fell down the stairs, Adam got a cold, we broke a wine glass, Jake was up crying from 11-1am last night and it was a blustery cold and rainy weekend. Anyway, enough of the bad parts, we did have fun too! Sunday night we went to the Living Christmas Tree show with the Lyles family. It was a fantastic performance that totally filled me with the Christmas spirit! Day 12 activity hasn't happen. We didn't make our Christmas pottery.
Last night, I gathered the troops, bundled everyone up and drove us down to see the National Tree and to sit on Santas lap. This was Evan's 3rd year to see Santa and Jake's first! Jake didn't seem to care either way, but Evan wouldn't sit on Santa's lap unless I was holding him. He took the treat from Santa with hesitation but has been carrying it around ever since. Adam said it was so cold that it was on the verge of child abuse to have our kids outside. So we met Santa, saw baby Jesus in the manger, swung by the Yule Log, saw the tree with the star on top, and looked at the toy train display and quickly went back to the car. It was certainly cold but our hearts were warmed by Christmas joy and cheer!
