OC Beach Vacation

A rainbow we saw the first night we arrived to the beach
One of the best parts was sharing dinner on our balcony and playing cards
                                                                   over looking the ocean
Baby Girl was happy and thankfully didn't get sick
The boys playing on the beach with buckets and shovels was the best part of
                                                                 the vacation
                                                                 Boardwalk rides!

We had a week long "vacation" in early June. I say "vacation" because I think there was more work then play this trip. Both our boys came down with hand foot and mouth disease. First Jake got a terrible fever then broke out in a rash that caused irritating and painful blistering sores. Three days later, Evan vomited, got a fever and the rash followed. There was A LOT  of crying and sleepless nights. Adam and I kept positive attitudes and just did what needed to be done. We tried to find pockets of happiness and fun when we could. Some of my favorite memories came from playing on the beach, getting frozen yogurt together, Adam getting Boo'd by and old lady at Fagers, and running in the rain with Casey. Adam got to go on a big fishing trip that just fell in line with how the rest of the vacation was going: 7 foot swells, driving cold rain, and the boat had to turn around and end the trip early. He did catch and release 3 fish though. So this vacation was a challenge but we were all together as a family and even though all was not ideal I still found it special to share the week together.
