Apple Picking

Fall is officially here! The cooler weather has come, leaves are turning, and mums are blossoming. That also means it is time to go apple picking. We went to our favorite farm, Homestead Farm, this past Sunday. It felt damp and cold when we first got there but the merriment of the fall festivities quickly warmed us! We picked more apples then we know what to do with, although, I've already made apple bread and have orders from Adam for apple crisp. We went on a hayride and the whole time Evan's main enjoyment came from trying to cover Adam with the hay. We also got to look at the goats, a baby cow, and ducks! For lunch we had hot dogs and homemade vegetable soup and hot apple cider! The best memory is when I was on Adam's shoulders because I just had to reach the perfect apple on the highest branch and Jake was fussing out of nervousness and Evan was standing in silence wondering what silly Mommy was doing! We had a lot of fun!
