This past week we worked on learning colors. Evan's first response when I say "what color is that" is "GREEN!". It had been that way for a while and even after playing I Spy, drawing and talking about colors with crayons, sorting blocks by colors, reading books about colors and going on an outside color hunt he STILL says most things are green. Sometimes he'll call out black or purple. But, I was impressed yesterday when we walked outside and he said the sky was blue! So, colors will be something we have to continue to work on.
To keep things moving and interesting this week we are working on shapes. This morning we drew different shapes and cut them out. Evan is actually very good at this. He knew circle right away(and drew it all on his own). He easily got square, star, and triangle and heart. Tomorrow I plan to take him on an outside shapes hunt. He really like it when we did this with colors so hopefully he'll enjoy doing it with shapes.
